The Gemmell Student Complex is an integral building on campus that is home to various offices, organizations, and activities that support student life on campus. Additional information about these can be found at the bottom of this page by clicking on the appropriate link that you want to learn more about. Gemmell is typically open every day from 7 am-11 pm.

INFORMATION DESK

The Gemmell Information Desk can be found on the second floor of Gemmell. The desk is staffed by students throughout the fall and spring semester and serves a variety of roles. The Information Desk oversees the mailboxes for Recognized Student Organizations (RSO). If you are involved with an organization that needs to check it's mail, you can stop by the desk to get into your mailbox and to get your lock combination. The Information Desk also has laptops and tech equipment that can be signed out if you need to use the projectors in one of the meeting rooms. The desk is closed during summer and winter breaks.

Meeting rooms

There are numerous meeting spaces available in Gemmell that can be used by student organizations as well as by organizations outside of Clarion University. Currently, Gemmell has 6 meeting rooms available that range in size from holding 32-120 people. A Multi-Purpose Room (MPR) is also available for use in Gemmell, which can hold a maximum of 500 people.  In order to use spaces in the Gemmell Student Complex, a space request form must be completed through Conference and Event Services.

Student Lounges

In addition to the student life offices, Gemmell also has several lounge areas available for students to go to for studying or meeting up with friends. Each lounge space is set up to provide easily accessible outlets for students to charge their electronic devices. If you need a space to work on a group project, students can utilize the group work stations on the second floor of Gemmell, next to the Clarion Students' Association Office. These work stations provide plenty of space for groups to set up shop, and there are four TVs available that students can connect to so their work can easily be seen by their peers.

Student Resource Room

On the first floor of Gemmell there is a resource room that serves as a distribution center for food and toiletries to students. Any student that is in need of something can go to the Information Desk on the second floor Gemmell and ask to be let into the resource room to get items that they need. Donations are also welcomed throughout the year, and they can also be dropped off at the Information Desk when it is open. Clothing is not accepted at this time for the pantry; however, there may be times when specific clothing drives are conducted. For more information about the food pantry and what items are most needed, please click on this link.
