Leadership and Community Service

Student Engagement and Development offers a wide range of programs and activities to support leadership development and civic engagement. There are opportunities for students, staff, faculty, and community members, and new programs are always in the works.

Leadership Programs

Leadership Programs at Clarion University challenge students to increase their knowledge and contribute and support positive change in their environments.

Leadership programs available through our area include:

  • Leadership Engagement and Development (LEAD)
  • Lead With Eagle Pride Conference
  • Low Ropes Challenge Course
  • Mary Walter Lecture Series
  • President's Leadership Academy

Service Programs

Community service is the ultimate way to tie together the various pieces of your time at Clarion. Students who participate in service make connections between their classes and real life. They use what they learn to do what needs done in ways they love.

Service happens year-round, from right here on campus to points all over the world, Golden Eagles help people and the planet everywhere they go. This semester, members of the community and students will work together on many programs, projects and problems. Service programs happening this semester include:

  • 9/11 Remembrance and Patriot Day Program
  • Come Together Clarion
  • Community Service Days
  • Kids at Heart Programs

Additional Programs

In addition to the above programs offered by students, for students, Student Engagement and Development also offers the following opportunities for university students:

  • Civic Engagement Scholarship
  • Federal Work-Study - Community Service
  • President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll

There are leadership and service programs to fit all kinds of interests and needs. Students can identify and design their own experience in these areas, and participate as little or as much as they like. Choose an hour or a whole semester, as long as you choose to participate!
