LGBTQ+ Affairs

At Clarion University, we are dedicated to providing a safe and accepting environment for students of all sexual orientations and gender identities. Below is a list of resources that lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer (LGBTQ+) students, faculty, and staff may find useful. 

ALLIES

Allies is an organization of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer and straight students, faculty and Clarion community members who have come together to work for the preservation of the human rights of all individuals, regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity or expression. Through advocacy and education, Allies works to provide a safe and supportive environment for all students. 

The Allies office is located in 277 Gemmell Student Complex and provides a variety of educational resources, emotional support, and assistance in LGBTQ+ student affairs on campus.

safe zone

Safe Zone is a program which identifies faculty and staff who will provide empathy, acceptance, support and resources for LGBTQ+ students.  

Training for Safe Zone is offered through the Presidential Commission on LGBTQ+, and more information can be found here
