PennWest Clarion launches business plan competition

September 20, 2022

PennWest Clarion invites students to compete for up to $3,000 in cash prizes in the business plan competition.

Prizes have been doubled this year for Clarion's BizPitch Competition. Students develop and deliver an effective, professional business pitch presenting an innovative and marketable business concept. Full-time and part-time students enrolled in the fall semester on the Clarion campus may enter individually or in teams of up to four and will present a five- to seven-minute pitch outlining their business to a panel of judges. The top BizPitch prize is $3,000.

BizPitch registration deadline is Oct. 14. To register or for more information, visit www.clarion.edu/bizpitch. Email questions to bizpitch@clarion.edu.

Students may also join The State System Student Start Up Challenge, an opportunity for students at Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education universities to win up to $10,000 to implement a business idea. Additional cash prizes will be awarded to other top competitors.

To participate in the Start Up Challenge, students must enter a two-minute video pitch by Dec. 9, 2022. For additional information on the competition requirements, including how to enter, go to www.systemstartup.biz or email Cindy Nellis at cnellis@pennwest.edu.
