Clarion University lifts mask mandate

June 29, 2021

As of June 28, Pennsylvania’s mask order tied to the COVID-19 pandemic is lifted. Following that guidance, Clarion University employees, students and visitors will no longer be required to wear a mask either inside campus buildings or outside on campus grounds.

While this is good news, we continue to encourage responsible behavior. For people who are not fully vaccinated, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention continues to recommend mask wearing.

If you have not yet been vaccinated, I encourage you to visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) websites; they have released detailed information about why and how vaccines keep us safer and healthier. You can contact your medical provider or an area medical facility to schedule a vaccination appointment. Visit Vaccines.gov to find vaccination providers near you.

High vaccination rates will be critical to keeping positive case numbers low within our campus community. Help spread the word by using the Protect the Nest graphics in your email signature and on social media.

We are planning for a traditional, in-person Fall 2021 semester. As we move through the summer, additional updates regarding health and safety guidelines will be shared.

We continue to monitor county vaccination rates, voluntary responses to the employee vaccination status survey, as well as Pennsylvania Department of Health, CDC and Pennsylvania Department of Education guidance on keeping our community safe as the fall semester approaches.
