2011 Training Guide Title

New features within the CMS:

"Admin" Tab
Clarion University's web designer/developer will use this area to provide updates to all contributors. Contributors will have the ability to view his/her current draft pages as well as a "trash bin" with a collection of deleted pages in the event the contributor needs to restore something from the trash bin.

Delete Button
Authors will have the ability to delete pages. Previously, a contributor had to place a page "offline" in order to remove it from public view.

Note: You must have access to the parent page of a deleted page in order to restore the deleted page. If you delete a page that has child pages underneath it, the child pages will also be deleted.

Restoring Deleted Pages
In order to restore a deleted page, you will need to view the trash bin of the parent page above the deleted page. From the trash bin you have two steps to follow. First, restore the deleted page and then commit the restored page to make it live again.

Disable/Enable Button
This allows contributors to preview a page and check links prior to committing it (i.e., making it visible to the public).

Manage Navigation Menu
This menu will give contributors additional functionality on how to add and remove pages from the navigation. A contributor will also be able to add non-Clarion University web pages to his/her navigation.

New Resource Collections
Contributors can now create "Image" and "Document and Forms" libraries by creating a new page called a "Resource Collection." Previously, a contributor had to contact the web designer/developer to have a library created.

Manage Content Menu
All levels of CMS editors will see a change in this menu. The areas that are available for editing for each level will appear under the "All" tab. Please use this tab exclusively
