QPA Calculator (click here) - Use this calculator to determine the grades you need to achieve the 3.0+ QPA needed for graduation and Pennsylvania teacher certification.  Please note: When using the QPA calculator with student teaching courses, please remember that you will have to identify each 6-credit placement as two 3-credit courses because the calculator only goes up to 5-credit courses.  Thus, four 3-credit courses will equal your total of 12 credits for the student teaching semester.  Click here  for specific information regarding grade point average and the Pennsylvania Department of Education teacher certification.

PLEASE NOTE: Teacher certification majors must pass all required Praxis II tests before student teaching.  Passing scores MUST BE submitted in print to the OFS.  Due dates are listed in yellow below.

Well-planned, sequenced, and high quality clinical and field experiences are an integral part of the Teacher Education Programs. Field experiences link theories and principles to practical applications in the classroom. The mission of the Office of Field Services (OFS) is to coordinate these field experiences throughout the teacher certification candidate’s undergraduate program.

Located on the first floor of Stevens Hall, the OFS is open throughout the calendar year providing information, advice, direction, and forms needed to successfully complete the required field experiences specific to each program. This website will provide you access to contact information, relevant documents, important dates, and answers to frequently asked questions. If you have any other questions or need further assistance, please contact us or stop by the Field Services Office in 127 Stevens Hall.
