B.S.Ed. in Music Education

The Bachelor of Science Education in Music Education degree program is designed to prepare prospective music teaching specialists for teaching vocal and instrumental music at all grade levels (K-12). The program provides for preparation in all areas pertaining to the teaching of music at the school levels including instruction in general music in classrooms, music theory, history and appreciation, vocal ensembles, bands and orchestras.

The Department of Music is housed in the Marwick-Boyd Fine Arts Center. The facilities include 14 practice rooms each with a piano, Moller 2-manual pipe organ, a large vocal/instrumental rehearsal room, several general classrooms, and a music technology center with synthesizers, digital pianos and computers.  Approximately 40 Music Department sponsored performances enrich the campus events scheduled each year.  All students enrolled at Clarion, regardless of their major, are welcome to audition for membership in any of the performing organizations offered through the Music Department.
