accessing the voicemail system

  • From on-campus:  dial 3650
  • From off-campus:  dial 814-393-3650 
  • Enter your mailbox number followed by #.  Note: Your mailbox number is the same as your extension number
  • Enter your voice mail password followed by #

Changing your voicemail password

  • Log into your voicemail
  • Press 84
  • Follow the voice prompts

Recording your greeting

  • Log into your voicemail
  • Press 82
  • Press 1 to change or external greeting
    • Note:  You may also record a temporary greeting with an expiration date.  To record a temporary greeting, select 3 instead of 1.
  • Press 5
  • Wait for the tone and then begin your recording
  • Press # to end the recording
  • To exit and save, press 4
  • Press 76 to delete your recording

Playing your messages

  • Log into your voicemail
  • Listen to the mailbox summary
  • Press 2 to play the current message
  • Press 76 to delete the current message and go to the next message
  • or press 6 to save the current message to go to the next message
  • Press 3 to skip forward
  • Press 21 to play the message slower
  • Press # to pause the message, press 2 continue
  • Press 71 to replay the message

  • Press 71
  • Press 5
  • Wait for the tone and then begin your recording
  • Press # to end your recording
  • Press 79 to send the message

Forward the current message

  • Press 73
  • Enter the mailbox number (extension) of the person you wish to forward the message to
  • Press #
  • Repeat the previous (2) steps to add more mailboxes
  • Press # when finished entering mailboxes
  • Press 79 to send the message

Assigning a custom operator

When you specify a custom operator, you can tell callers to press (0) if they wish to speak to someone in your absence.  To assign a custom operator, do the following:

  • Log into your voicemail
  • Press 80
  • Press 1
  • Enter the new custom operator number
  • Press # to end
  • Update your greeting to inform callers to press (0) to reach someone else

Express Messaging

  • Dial 2193
  • Enter the mailbox number of the person you would like to leave a message
  • Press #
  • Wait for the tone and then record your message
  • Press # to end your recording

analog phone features

Transfer Calls
  • To transfer a call, press the switch-hook or flash button, listen for a dial tone, dial desired party, announce transfer, and hang up.
Conference Calls
  • Call the first party, depress switch-hook or flash and listen for a dial tone.  Dial the 2nd party, you can talk before including original caller, depress switch-hook or flash, and begin conversation.  Analog phones can have up to 3 parties and Digital phones can have up to 6 parties.
To Consult
  • Put the first caller on hold by depressing the switch-hook or flash and dial desired party.  When finished consulting, depress the switch-hook or flash once and resume original conversation.
Call Forwarding
  • Lift handset, wait for dial tone, press #1, listen for dial tone, dial the number where your calls are being forwarded to, hang up.
Cancel Call Forwarding
  • Listen for the dial tone, press #1, hang up.
