Golden Eagle Marching Band

The Golden Eagle Marching Band (GEMB) is a group of talented student musicians* who add to the collegiate atmosphere at Clarion. GEMB performs at 5-6 home football games, 3-4 PSAC western division away football games, fall pep rallies, the Autumn Leaf Festival Parade, the annual Pennsylvania Collegiate Marching Band Festival in Allentown, PA, and in ehibition at selected high school marching band festivals.

Wind Ensemble

Wind Ensemble is an advanced wind and percussion ensemble. Literature performed includes advanced and medium-advanced standard and new repertoire. Wind Ensemble presents two concerts per semester and provides ceremonial music for winter and spring commencement. An audition is required.

 

Symphonic Band

Symphonic Band meets during the spring semester, and presents one concert each year. Literature performed includes medium-advanced and medium standard and new repertoire. Anyone with a high school band background may register.

 

Jazz Band

Jazz Band is an advanced wind and percussion ensemble. Literature performed includes advanced and medium-advanced standard and new jazz repertoire. The ensemble meets during the spring semester and presents 1 on-campus and 2-3 off-campus performances each year. An audition is required.

 

Solid Gold Athletic Band

The Solid Gold Athletic Band (SGAB) is a volunteer ensemble that performs at 5-6 women's (6 p.m.) and men's (8 p.m.) basketball games in Januray and February. A smaller subgroup performs at several wrestling matches. Rehearsals are held in November, December, and January, and prior to each basketball game. The SGAB is not a course and does not have regular meeting times.

 

* Participation in Clarion University Bands is open to all Clarion University students. An audition may be required for certain ensembles or for positions within the GEMB.
