CL-717 Gemmell Elevated Walkway Repair
Project Description: Reconstruction of elevated concrete slab at the entry and construction of an exterior glazed vestibule. Included is selective demolition to accommodate the new construction including removal of the concrete slab at an elevated walkway, removal of unit masonry for access to existing steel structure, removal of steel guardrails, removal of existing exterior doors and removal of electrical and lighting systems to the extent required around the rear entry. Existing steel structure supporting the slab is to be completely exposed, cleaned and prepared for priming and painting with high-performance coatings. a new formed concrete slab is to be cast in place at the elevated walkway, and a traffic wearing surface is to be applied to the top of a new slab. the masonry below the deck is to be reconstructed at locations of deterioration, and where brick was removed to access the steel bearing locations. The masonry is to be re-pointed in areas of deteriorated joints, and all masonry in the area of work is to be cleaned. An exterior vestibule is to be constructed using a glazed aluminum curtain wall system for both wall and sloped roof surfaces and includes a glazed double door system with applied hardware. The aluminum framing system is to be factory painted with a custom color. the work includes the addition of a structural steel member below the slab to support the vestibule. In addition, the existing double entry doors and sidelights are to be replaced with new doors and curtain wall infill to match the vestibule system. As part of the vestibule work, the contractor shall also relocate existing exterior lighting fixtures, replace existing light fixtures where indicated and provide a new electric vestibule heater, all with new power and exterior conduit. The work area is to be protected, and adjoining facilities of Gemmell Hall are to remain operational for the duration of the work. Since buildings will be occupied during construction care needs to be taken to minimize risk or disruption of classes/activities in the building.
Prebid Conference - will be held March 13, 2012 at 11:00 am at McEntire Conference Room, Main Campus, Clarion, PA. The pre-bid meeting will be the only site visit conducted by the University and the only review of plans and specifications. All Contractors are urged to attend.

CL-719 Campus Facilities Master Plan
Project Description: Development of a new Campus Facilities Master plan including areas such as short, mid and long term time frames, University Strategic Directions Plan, Academic Plan, Student Life Plan, Finance & Administration Plan, University Student Housing Master Plan, University Athletic Master Plan, Long Range Master Plan and provide a new clear vision of the University's future. Also included should be efforts toward sustainable energy, conservation, "green" building design and updated ADA requirements as well as a concise effort to involve Clarion Borough, Clarion County and surrounding townships in these planning efforts.
Prebid Conference: will be held January 17, 2012 10:00 am at Eagle Commons, Room 108 on the Main Campus. It is highly recommended that interested parties attend this meeting.
