CL698 BECHT HALL CONVERSION & RENOVATION
Project Description - Conversion & Renovation of Becht Hall is a Multiple Prime Project. The work includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following:
The scope of work for the Conversion and Renovation of Becht Hall is the converting and renovating the 100+ year-old dormitory building into offices, classrooms, a campus health center, and other student activity space to support Clarion University's Student Success Center. The renovation highlights include:
The demolition of the existing steel, cast iron, wood and masonry interior structure, including a section of the roof will be demolished. The existing exterior masonry wall assembly, stair enclosures and roof structure will remain in place, but will be modified in areas. A new interior steel frame with concrete floors and new foundations will be installed with this conversion. This installation will also include two elevators. All exterior remediation is including.
A new geothermal heating/cooling system with a new well field, HVAC control which shall include campus full access to all controls/monitoring/reporting. All new heating/cooling equipment to include all pumps, controls, all ductwork and any other items to items needed for the full and complete piping to campus locations.
A new plumbing, sprinkler-fire protection system will be required including all storm and sanitary additions.
Replacement of the existing pad mounted exterior transformer, supply/ installation of a new exterior emergency generator, all new electrical system throughout the building with new controlled lighting, all new IT and communication system (fiber and data/telecom copper). Fire protection/reporting and a lighting protection system are included.
All contracts will include the repair/upgrading of all land, streets and items.
Preceding the above, the removal of all known asbestos, all interior above grade piping (steam, water, sanitary), will have been removed. Also all interior walls plaster and lath will have been removed leaving all interior studs and support walls (wood, steel studs, other) will remain. . .
The project shall comply with certain US Green Build Council (USGBC) LEED prerequisites and credits needed for the project to obtain LEED Silver certification based on USGBC's "LEED 2009 for New Construction & Major Renovations".

CL725 STILL HALL TRANSFORMER REPLACEMENT
Project Description - The Transformer Replacement Contractor shall be a single prime contractor for this project. The work includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following:
This project is for the replacement of the existing exterior primary transformer at Still Hall on the Clarion Campus of Clarion University of Pennsylvania in Clarion, PA. The work is to be performed under a single prime electrical contract. This contract will involve electrical construction with associated general construction. The project consists of replacing the existing transformer with a new transformer, construction of a new concrete transformer pad with a new conduit bank, all associated demolition, all associated electrical installation and testing, and the supply/ installation of a new grounding electrode system. Clarion University will pre-purchase the transformer and pull box for this project and provide these items to the contractor for installation. The contractor shall provide a 350KW or larger temporary generator, connect to the existing switchgear, and supply fuel for this generator and the existing emergency generator. The temporary generator and the emergency generator will provide power to the building during the replacement of the transformer. The contractor shall also provide all required labor to install and maintain the generators 24 hours/day every day of the week during the construction period when the existing transformer is off service and the new transformer is not fully checked and operative. The contractor supplied generator and the existing emergency generator shall be checked a minimum of every 8 hours while the generator is operating. This contractor shall also maintain and fuel the existing building diesel emergency transformer which will operate continuously, once the exiting transformer is off line, and shall remain operating until the new transformer fully functioning.

Project Description - Demolition and Abatement Contractor shall be a single prime contractor for this project. The work includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following: Becht Hall REBID Demolition ad Hazardous Material Abatement consists of the removal of selected building materials and all ACM (asbestos containing material) as noted in the drawings, specifications and Owner provided reports and direction. Building materials to be removed include, but not limited to, interior plaster and/or gypsum board on interior wood partitions, all ceilings, all finish floor materials, all plumbing fixtures, supply piping and associated above grade/slab sanitary piping, all fire protection sprinklers, branch and main lines off of the existing fire risers in the three (3) stair enclosures, and the entire electrical system within the building up to the main switch gear and existing panel. Electrical power from the existing exterior pad mounted transformer back to an existing electric panel, the existing fire risers in the three (3) stair enclosures, associated fire hose connections at each floor of the stair enclosures, and existing fire service equipment i the basement are to remain. ACM includes, but are not limited to, plaster wall & Patching, floor tile, pipe insulation and contaminated soil.

Project Description : - Project work under this project applies to Stevens Hall, a two story classroom building on the main campus of Clarion University of Pennsylvania, in clarion, PA. The work consists of cleaning and sealing of exterior facade and includes repair of the masonry. Interior work involves removal of existing damaged surfaces, repair, re-plastering and painting. The work shall include, but is not necessarily limited to, the furnishing of all labor, superintendence, materials, tools and equipment in addition to performing all work necessary to complete all construction to the satisfaction of, and subject to the approval of, the Professional and the State System of Higher Education. CL-734 Rhoades Hall Masonry Repair/Restoration
Project Description: Project is located at Rhoades Hall on Venango College Campus of Clarion University of Pennsylvania in Oil City, PA. The work is to be performed under a single prime contract, CL734.1 for General construction and includes work on the exterior envelope to address water infiltration issues. The project work areas include three additional pieces to the original building, all ow which were constructed in 2005. The work includes full re-pointing of deteriorated joints at specific areas of the existing split-face concrete block veneer. The re-pointing work also includes spot re-pointing at other areas of the veneer based on a quantity allowance. The concrete masonry veneer is to be fully cleaned with a mild acidic cleaner, and two coat application of water repellant is to be applied. The work includes both replacement of and new sealant joints at the aluminum-framed window and entry openings. In addition, replacement of sealant joints and backer rods at masonry construction joints both in the cmu veneer and horizontal traffic locations are included as indicated. The existing pre-cast coping is to be completely removed in the work area, and new coping is to be reconstructed with pressure-treated blocking, membrane flashing and pre-manufactured aluminum coping cap. The work area is to be protected, and the existing exterior doors of Rhoades Hall are to remain operational as exit egress doors for the duration of the work.

Project Description: The Becker Hall Masonry Repair Contractor shall be a single prime for this project. The work includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following: The project work is located at Becker Hall on the Clarion campus of Clarion University of Pennsylvania. The work is to be performed under a single prime contract, Contract No. CL-722 for General Construction, and includes new masonry construction as well as masonry restoration work at Becker Hall. The new masonry work includes construction of a screen wall on the roof of the north side of the building. The wythe brick masonry, coping, any reinforcing, flashing and existing parapet waterproofing down to roof deck. The new construction includes reinforced concrete masonry unit construction with brick veneer, both of which are to be built on top of existing masonry. The screen wall is to be capped with pressure-treated blocking and pre-manufactured aluminum coping. The existing roofing is to be tied into the new construction with new membrane flashing at the screen wall base, and terminated with a reglet and counter-flashing. One side of the screen wall is be be perforated for ventilation and is to be constructed with openings in the concrete masonry as well as brick veneer. The perforated openings are to have a base of through-wall flashing and be spanned with both loose lintels and reinforced bond beams. The work at Becker Hall also includes masonry restoration at indicated areas of the south and west exterior walls and the south side parapet screen wall. The work at these4 locations is to include masonry reconstruction, replacement and re-pointing of brick and cleaning and water repellent treatment of brick surfaces. The work is to be performed in accordance with Quantity Allowances indicated for this area, and unit prices will be provided for modification of the quantities. The work area is to be protected, and the existing exterior doors of Becker Hall are to remain operational as exit egress doors for the duration of the work.
