Clarion University of Pennsylvania, founded in 1867, specializes in preparing students for professional careers in fields such as education, business, and science. Offering over 90 degree programs, the university leads the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education in the number of academic programs with the nation's top accreditation.

Clarion also has a campus in nearby Oil City, Venango Campus, and offers programs at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh.
