Dear Friends,
It is a great pleasure to welcome you to Clarion University–Venango Campus, the oldest regional campus in Pennsylvania's State System of Higher Education. Our mission is to serve the needs of Venango County and the surrounding region through quality programs and outstanding services in a highly personal and caring environment.
My colleagues and I are immensely proud of the campus' history. Community leaders advocated the creation of the campus in Oil City 50 years ago and raised funding to establish the campus. Our facilities are named for some of those community pioneers and, today, the community continues its legacy of strong support for Venango Campus. This year, we will celebrate our 50th anniversary with a year full of activities that recognize the campus' strong partnership with the community.
Clarion University–Venango Campus has more than doubled its enrollment in recent years due in large part to its growing network of educational partnerships with organizations in business, industry, health care, education, and other sectors. Enrollment reached an all-time high in Fall 2009, with more than 1000 students enrolled in campus programs and a growth of almost 10 percent over the previous Fall.
Our partnerships allow us to meet the workforce needs of the region, by educating future employees who are skilled in their technical fields and have the educational foundation to move into management positions. To learn more about our extensive network of educational partnerships, take a moment to read this brief overview, Educational Partnerships.
Venango Campus students attend full-time and part-time and include those who just finished high school and those who are returning to college after many years in the home or workplace. The campus’ programs and services are designed to meet a wide range of needs and are offered with the flexibility that is required for a diverse community of learners. Please let us know how we can help you.
Clarion University–Venango Campus offers a wide range of credit and non-credit programs, including associate, bachelor's and master's degrees, certificate programs, and continuing education courses and seminars that provide opportunities for personal enrichment and professional development. Further, students may begin any of Clarion University's 90+ four-year degree programs at Venango Campus.
Clarion University–Venango Campus is home to the university's School of Nursing and Allied Health, the Department of Applied Technology, and the Venango Campus Department of Arts and Sciences, and is experiencing growing enrollment and an expanding array of programs to meet the needs of the region. Thanks to generous financial support from our community, Venango Campus now offers new student apartment housing, enabling it to serve students from a wide geographic area.
Thank you for your interest in our very special academic community, and best wishes from the students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of Clarion University–Venango Campus!
Sincerely,
Christopher M. Reber
