Program Description
This is a twenty-month program that is taken completely online that along with any four year degree will allow you to sit for the CPA exam. You do the work at a time and place that is convenient for you. You never have to attend a classroom setting; the entire program is on-line from your computer.
You will take eight accounting courses (24 credits). The courses include:

Who is eligible to take this program?
Ø To be eligible for admission to the program and to sit for the Pennsylvania CPA exam you must have a Baccalaureate degree from a college or university approved at the time of graduation by the Department of Education. Students who are within 16 credits of completing their bachelor's degree (in any field) may be considered for entry into Clarion University's CPA Eligibility Program. Students applying to the program must provide an unofficial or official copy of their university transcript, along with the "Online CPA Exam Eligibility Program Form" for consideration. Admissions staff will use the transcript to make an informed judgment whether the student is within 16 credits of graduation, however, this judgment will not be a definitive statement that the student will graduate within 16 credit hours. For the requirements of any state other than Pennsylvania please contact us.
*Note: Clarion University students enrolled in the College of Business Administration, are not eligible to enroll in this program until after graduating from college.
Am I eligible for financial aid if I enroll in this program?
Ø This is a non-degree program and would not be eligible for financial aid. You may be eligible for financial aid through various banks or lending institutions. Please contact your banker for details.
What will I get from this program?
Ø This program will make you eligible to sit for the CPA exam.
How long will the program take to complete?
Ø The program is designed be completed within one year, but it may be possible to spread it out over a longer period.
How much will the program cost?
Ø You will have to pay for up to eight on-line courses. Current Tuition
How much time will I need to study?
Ø To complete this program within one year you should be willing and able to devote at least two to three hours per day to the program.
What is an on-line class?

What type of computer and software do I need?
Ø You will need a computer that is fast enough to run modern applications (Microsoft Office's Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat). You will also need access to broadband Internet service (Cable or DSL). If you do not have access to this type of system at home you may be able to obtain access at a local library or school.

Will completing this program make me a CPA?
Ø No. Completing this program will make you eligible to sit for the CPA exam. Upon successfully passing the CPA exam you must still meet other requirements to become certified. For more details on the other requirements, contact us.
What type of work do CPAs do?
Ø CPAs are qualified to do many different types of work, and often enter careers in public accounting, industry, government, not-for-profit, and other types of entities. Many become self-employed. If you would like to discuss the careers available, contact us.
