Celebrate Friends, Family and Community at Come Together Clarion!
On April 20, 2013, Clarion area residents will gather on 6th Avenue to celebrate friends, family, and community. Organizations from across the community and campus are joining together to build a day of activities, entertainment, awards and fun for everyone involved!
Throughout the day, participants will get to make their mark on the Come Together Clarion community quilt. There will be family Olympics, a 5K race, prizes, awards, and community advocacy tables. During the closing ceremony, individuals who have helped make their community great will be recognized.
For more information about the event, or if your organization is interested in partnering with a student group for a craft or activity, please send an email to cuservice@clarion.edu.
What is Come Together Clarion All About?
Come Together Clarion is the result of many people who love Clarion coming together to celebrate what makes our area great: our people! This event is possible because of the hard work, dedication and support of the following groups:
The Advisory Board for Leadership and Engagement, Student Senate, Emerging Leaders, the Honors Program, the Center for Leadership and Involvement, and the Good Neighbor Program.
There are many opportunities to get involved, and it's not too late. If you are interested in volunteering to help stage the event or if your organization would like to participate, please send an email to cuservice@clarion.edu.
Parent-Child 5K for 5 Causes Run-Walk
This year's Come Together event features an exciting addition! The Brothers of Sigma Phi Epsilon are hosting a family friendly healthy start to our day, that is also a way to give back to 5 local philanthropies. Anyone is welcome to participate in the event as an individual, parent-children team, aunt, uncle, grandparent or even grandchildren. Everyone is encouraged to team up and support each other and our community in the effort.
The race begins at 10am at the intersection of 6th Avenue and Wood Street, Clarion, PA 16214. There is a $5 entrance fee for the race which will be divided equally between the following five local agencies: Big Brothers Big Sisters, Clarion County YMCA, Clarion University Relay for Life, National Multiple Sclerosis Society - Northwest PA Chapter, and Northwest Pennsylvania Rural AIDS Alliance.
