Congratulations!  You've made the right decision to attend Clarion University.   We make sure our students have the support they need to realize their dreams.

couple-students-libraryOnce you begin your college career at Clarion University, you may need assistance to ensure your success. Clarion University is committed to the academic growth and development of all of our students and has established a series of programs to provide the necessary support.

  • Clarion Transitions is a four-year student success program that includes several components --  orientation, discovery, exploration, sophomore focus and academic mentoring -- designed to help  students succeed while they are at Clarion and after they graduate.

  • The Writing Center offers assistance to students who need help with the various writing skills necessary for success while at Clarion.

  • The Center for Academic Enrichment provides comprehensive assistance in reading and study skills, as well as in the content areas of specific subjects.  There are two components of the Center for Academic Enrichmen:  the Learning Skills Lab, which provides instruction in basic learning skills for students who are having trouble understanding basic concepts, ideas, or mechanical processes so that they can become independent learners; and the Tutorial Center  which provides supplemental aid to class instruction for students who encounter difficulty with the course content.

  • We also have a comprehensive Career Services Center with resources for students looking for career information and experiences, students who are about to graduate and enter the job market for the first time, alumni considering a career change, community agencies seeking volunteers, and employers seeking to recruit our graduates.

In addition, the Center for Academic Enrichment offers the following programs:

  • TRiO-Student Support Services helps students set, achieve and enjoy their educational and personal goals while attending Clarion University.TRiO-Educational Talent Search serves residents of Clarion, Jefferson and Venango Counties by providing study skills instruction, campus visitations, SAT preparation, financial aid planning, college and career planning, and leadership training

  • TRiO-Upward Bound encourages the acquisition of academic skills and motivation needed for success in high school, college, and everyday life. The program, designed for selected high school students

  • Educational Opportunities Program/ACT101 is an enrichment program designed to provide a comprehensive academic experience at the university.Disability Support Services is available to any enrolled student having a documented disability for assistance with reasonable accommodations are individually through evaluation

  • The Golden Eagle Pre-College Program demonstrates our commitment and obligation to students who have potential for college success, but who would benefit from a learning experience before enrollment in the fall semester. The primary objective of this program is to provide students the opportunity to use learning, living and social skills developed through interactive and cooperative experiences, which ease the transition from high school to college.
