Dr. Hank Alviani, assistant professor of music and director of the Clarion University choirs, will be performing with the Pittsburgh Opera chorus in its current production of Giuseppe VerdiÆs "La Traviata". Many consider this to be VerdiÆs most popular opera. This is AlvianiÆs first performance with the Pittsburgh Opera.

Dr. Hank Alviani, assistant professor of music and director of choirs at Clarion University of Pennsylvania, will be performing with the Pittsburgh Opera as a member of the chorus in its upcoming production of Giuseppi VerdiÆs "Rigoletto." The performances are September 24 at 8 p.m., Sept. 27 at 7 p.m., Sept. 30 at 8 p.m., and October 2 at 2 p.m.

Dr. Henry A. Alviani, assistant professor of music and director of choral and vocal music studies at Clarion University, had an article published by the Troubadour, the journal of the Eastern Division of the American Choral Directors Association. The Eastern Division covers 11 states plus Washington D.C. from Maryland to Maine.

Alviani to conclude Faculty Author Series
The 2007-08 Clarion University Faculty Author Seminar Series will conclude with a presentation by Dr. Henry Alviani, associate professor of music and director of choirs, April 9, 12:15 p.m., in Level A of Carlson Library. AlvianiÆs presentation, "An Analogical Approach to Vocal Technique," is free and open to the public. A light lunch will be served.

Dr. Hank Alviani, associate professor of music and director of choral and vocal studies at Clarion University, participated this summer in the orientation flight program with the 171st Air Refueling Wing located at Greater Pittsburgh International Airport in Coraopolis.
