The accolades keep pouring in for Clarion University’s library science programs including a third place national ranking for Best Online Bachelor’s Degree in Library Science.
Best Colleges bestowed this ranking upon Clarion University after considering tuition costs and wow factors – unique features that impressed the ranking organization.
The Bachelor of Science in liberal studies, library and information studies concentration, prepares students to work as paraprofessionals and provisional librarians in a variety of settings, including public libraries in Pennsylvania. It introduces students to the exciting worlds of information management and information transfer, in both traditional and emerging venues. The B.S. in liberal studies with a concentration in library information studies serves as an excellent preparation for studying toward a master's degree in library setting (such as Clarion's American Library Association-accredited M.S.L.S. degree), which is the recognized professional credential for the practice of librarianship.
Best Colleges also ranked Clarion's Online Master's in Library Science at No. 16.

Clarion University's Master of Science in information and library science program was the first of its kind in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. Classes are offered online for those individuals who wish to complete their program on a full-time or part-time basis. The future goals of the students in this program will vary. Within the M.S.L.S. degree the following concentrations are also available: reference and user services, and local and archival studies.
