Welcome back from break

January 12, 2018

Welcome back to Clarion University. We hope you had a relaxing break and are ready to begin the spring semester.

Don't forget to check the Office of the Registrar if you have any questions about important dates or if you are preparing to graduate in May.

Even if you're not graduating this semester, please remember there are several key resources that can come in handy for the semester.

Your first stop should be the Student Success Center which houses different programs to aid in your academic progress. The Student Success Center features:

  • Advising Services
  • Disability Support
  • Educational Talent Search
  • Minority Student Services
  • TRiO Support Programs
  • Tutoring and Learning Skills
  • Upward Bound
  • The Writing Center

Before you turn in a project or take an exam, take a few minutes and unwind with the meditation room located in the first floor sunroom in Becht Hall. This relaxing space is one of several lounges in Becht where you can take a break.

Career Services in 419 Becht Hall helps you prepare for your future. Build a resume, participate in a mock interview and visit job fairs to help you succeed. Career Services has events and tips to help you in every stage of the job search.

Another important service is campus Counseling Services in 256 Becht Hall. Trained counselors are there to help you deal with life's issues and concerns.

You'll want to make use of the state-of-the-art university libraries for researching ideas and to use as a quiet place to study.

The Clarion University Store, located along Suites on Main South along U.S. Route 322, has all of your Clarion University merchandise and textbooks.

Finally, don't forget to make time for fun – an important part of the college experience. By now you know that there are more than 140 campus organizations with which you can get involved, a campus movie theater, as well as downtown shops and restaurants.

Take advantage of the university's close proximity to hiking trails such as the North Country Trail along U.S. Route 322 or the many trails in Cook Forest where one can go cross country skiing or hiking along freshly fallen snow.

Enjoy your spring semester as a Courageous. Confident. Golden Eagle.
