ABLE assists in community boot drive

November 21, 2017

The Advisory Board for Leadership and Engagement needs help in addressing one of the greatest needs in the Clarion community: Good winter boots.

Many of our area residents are going to school, to the doctor, to the grocery store and other places with old, cracked and leaky shoes, which causes health problems. ABLE is working with several community organizations to collect new boots and get them to the individuals and families that needs them.

Through Dec. 1, ABLE is collecting boots for children between the ages of newborn and 14 years and women's boots in sizes 6-10. Donations can be dropped off between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. weekdays at the ABLE office (Gemmell 249). The boots will be distributed to local agencies, including: Clarion County Promise, Community Action and SAFE.
