Celebrate Earth Week at the university

The Society for Conservation Biology Club's will celebrate Earth Week next week and have a variety of events lined up to call attention to conservation.

Events begin with a trash pickup at 6 p.m. Monday, April 17. Those who wish to participate may meet in the first floor lobby of the Grunenwald Science and Technology Center. The areas for trash pickup are along U.S. Route 322 and downtown Clarion. Participants may also receive a free T-shirt.

The Society for Conservation Biology will hold an art show from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 18, in the first floor lobby of the Science and Technology Center. This year's theme is springtime and there will be prizes for various types of art. If you wish to participate, you may contact Corie Eckman at C.R.Eckman@eagle.clarion.edu for a submission form.

The week will end with two animal shows.

The first is the Wild World of Animals Show from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, in Marwick-Boyd Auditorium. Wild World of Animals will travel from Pittsburgh to showcase many exotic animals and the event is free.

The Birds of Prey will wrap up the week from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 20, in Room 122 in the Science and Technology Center. This show is an opportunity to learn about hawks, owls, a Peregrine falcon, and the other birds of prey in an interactive show. This event is free.
