Expert leads food allergy program at Clarion University

Clarion’s Presidential Commission on Disabilities will host Food Allergy Basics with Gina Clowes at 6 p.m. April 5 in Suites on Main North, room 110. The session is free and open to the public.

Clowes is national director of training for Food Allergy Research and Education and program director for a cooperative agreement with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She is founder of the online support group Allergy Moms, serving thousands of families and professional members worldwide.

Active in food allergy advocacy, her advice has appeared in numerous print, radio and television features, including CNN, People and ABC World News. She writes a regular column, "The Parenting Coach," for Allergic Living Magazine and is author of the best-selling children's book, "One of the Gang: Nurturing the Souls of Children with Food Allergies."
