Clarion University English Department presents the second speaker in the Spoken Art Series, Tom Noyes, at 6 p.m. Oct. 16 at Michelle’s Café on Main Street. The event is paired with open-mic night for Tobeco, is a group of student writers and musicians. The event is free and the public is encouraged to attend and participate.
Noyes’ fiction collection, “Come by Here: A Novella and Stories,” won the 2013 Autumn
House Prize in Fiction. Noyes is the author of several other books. His work has been
named a finalist for the Breadloaf Prize, Flannery O'Connor Award, Grace Paley Prize
and Richard Sullivan Prize. Noyes’ will perform a reading at the open-mic night.
“The open mic night, hosted by Tobeco, allows students and even faculty to express
themselves through readings and music,” said Phillip Terman, Ph.D., English professor.
