Melissa Kuntz, professor and chair of Clarion University art department, is one of five artists whose work is featured in the “modern+contemporary” exhibition that runs through July 18 at Boxheart Gallery, 4523 Liberty Ave., Pittsburgh.

Kuntz and Pittsburgh artists Cara Liborio, Mark Loebach and Daria Sandburg, and New York artist Jennipher Satterly, delineate, simultaneously, a number of societal, economic and ideological features in their artwork.
Kuntz holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from State University of New York and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. She has written reviews for Art in America magazine and the Pittsburgh City Paper while maintaining a studio practice.
Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday; and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
