Carrier Lifetime Giving Society

The Carrier Lifetime Giving Society is Clarion University's most prestigious donor recognition society. Individuals are inducted into the Society at various levels, based on his or her lifetime giving and progression through each level over time.

These benefactors have made a very special commitment of leadership, involvement and personal resources to shape the history and lead the future of Clarion University. Corporate matching gifts will be counted toward gift club membership.

This Society takes its name from the Carrier family, who in 1867 donated $6,000 and lumber, to start what has become Clarion University of Pennsylvania.

The Carrier Lifetime Giving Society Members May Receive:

  • Invitation to Annual Spirit of Philanthropy Event
  • Upon reaching the $50,000 lifetime giving milestone, donor will be "pinned" by the President with a special pin commemorating his or her contributions. As the donor moves through the various levels of the Carrier Lifetime Donor Recognition, a new stone will be added to the pin. The "pinning" ceremony will take place each year at the Spirit of Philanthropy Event.
  • Club recognition ribbon on name tag at all Clarion University Foundation, Inc. Events
  • Invitation to one on campus activity annually
  • Invitation to special opportunity event held regionally
  • Invitation to President's Holiday Reception
  • Recognition in the annual donor report

Diamond Stone - $1,000,000 or more
Yellow Sapphire Stone - $500,000-$999,999
Sapphire Stone - $250,000-$499,999
Citrine Topaz Stone - $100,000-$249,999
Blue Topaz Stone - $50,000-$99,999

1867 Annual Giving Society

The 1867 Society is Clarion's annual recognition society for alumni, parents, friends, businesses, retirees and employees.

The 1867 Society recognizes individuals and businesses that provide annual leadership support. Membership in the 1867 Society is open to anyone who contributes $1,000 or more during the fiscal year* in support of Clarion University.

Corporate matching gifts will be counted toward gift club membership. Benefits vary as donors reach new and important levels in their commitment to Clarion University.

University Club ($5,000 or more annually)

  • Invitation to Annual Spirit of Philanthropy Event
  • Club recognition ribbon on name tag at all Clarion University Foundation, Inc. Events
  • Invitation to multiple special opportunity events on campus
  • Invitation to special opportunity event held regionally
  • Invitation to Presidents Holiday Reception
  • Recognition in the annual donor report

President's Club ($2,500-$4,999 annually)

  • Invitation to Annual Spirit of Philanthropy Event
  • Club recognition ribbon on name tag at all Clarion University Foundation, Inc. Events
  • Invitation to multiple special opportunity events on campus
  • Invitation to President's Holiday Reception
  • Recognition in the annual donor report

Rising Eagles Club ($1,000-$2,499 annually)

  • Invitation to Annual Spirit of Philanthropy Event
  • Club recognition ribbon on name tag at all Clarion University Foundation, Inc. Events
  • Invitation to a special opportunity event on campus activity annually
  • Invitation to President's Holiday Reception
  • Recognition in the annual donor report

Heritage Planned Giving Society

The Heritage Society recognizes donors who graciously remember the university through a charitable bequest.
A commitment to Clarion University through a charitable bequest demonstrates how one generation can help the next and will provide a future of continued academic excellence.
A will, codicil or a planned gift arrangement, including gifts of life insurance, retirement assets and life income gifts will be counted.

 

 

*At Clarion University Foundation, Inc., the fiscal year begins on July 1 and ends on June 30.

Gifts counted are cash, appreciated securities, real and personal property, gifts in kind, matching gifts and life income gifts at face value.
