Students Win 2022 BizPitch Competition!
The PennWest University Clarion Student BizPitch Competition was held on November 16, 2022 in the Suites on Main North Theater open to the public. The Competition was sponsored by Scott and Pamela Kroh, The Kroh Family and Robindale Energy, Bowman and Company, S&T Bank, First United National Bank and the PennWest Clarion Interhall Council. The PennWest Clarion University Small Business Development Center and Entrepreneurial Leadership Center hosted the event.
The 2022 PennWest University Clarion Student BizPitch Competition is an exciting, educational experience and is intended to give students a platform to pitch their idea for new products and business ventures. It is designed to build on the spirit of entrepreneurship by giving students an opportunity to present and develop their innovative ideas! Cash prizes awarded were;
1st - $3,000, 2nd – $2,000 3rd – $1,000. And a Fan Favorite won $250.
The 2022 BizPitch Winners were:
First Place and FUN Bank Fan Favorite, Jada Smith with her business S.W.A.G, a non-profit organization dedicated to motivating, uplifting, encouraging, and helping young women reach their goals through mentorship, workshops, and scholarships.
Second Place, Kai Kueper with his business USBB, a youth basketball program that aims to provide guidance to youth basketball players, and their path to professional basketball.
Third Place, Jenna Joseph with her business Friendful, a mobile application that connects peers based on shared experiences, including mental health diagnoses.
