Pennwest pantry Order Form (coming Soon)

Did you know that PennWest Clarion has a food pantry in Gemmell? You may ask yourself, who should use the pantry? The answer is you! The pantry is to support students who may be experiencing hunger, whose financial situation may have recently changed, living expenses changed, or who may be having a hard time getting healthy and nutritious options to eat and that is all of us right now. The pantry is fully stocked with the following to help you:

  • Toilet paper
  • Paper Towels
  • Snacks including bars, chips, and fruit cups
  • Breakfast options including cereal and oatmeal
  • Soups and stews
  • Macaroni and cheese
  • Pasta and sauces
  • Ready to eat meals
  • Bathroom essentials including soap, deodorant, and shampoo
  • School supplies
  • Cold weather accessories

These resources are available to you free of charge. Simply click here (coming soon) to submit your information and your order. It will be bagged and packaged for you to pick up. Please try to make your requests for the amount of food and/or supplies you need for the week. All items are stocked year-round, and it is easier to accommodate more students with weekly orders.   • Am I frequently experiencing hunger

  • am I unable to get healthy and nutritious food on my income

Location:

 The Pennwest Pantry is located on the second floor of Gemmell in Room and Frame hall on venango's campus

HOW TO ACCESS THE RESOURCE ROOM

New procedures for the Resource Room: Simply click here (coming soon) to submit your information and your order. It will be filled and packaged for you to pick up. Please try to make your requests for the amount of food and/or supplies you need for the week. All items are stocked year-round, and it is easier to accommodate more students with weekly orders. If you have any questions, please email hasbrouck_d@pennwest.edu.

Staff members will pack and prepare your order for you to pick up at Gemmell. This will enable our staff to continue to deliver whatever students need without risking cross contamination. If you have any concerns, you can put them in the notes at the bottom of your order or email the staff directly.

What kind of things does the room have?

We stock the following items regularly:
• Food and beverages
• Household and cleaning products
• Toiletries and bathroom supplies
• School supplies (not books)
• Winter accessories.

In our current space we do not have room to regularly stock more items, but we have had success handling additional requests such as Interview clothes, a bicycle, and a high chair on an as needed basis. Do not hesitate to ask if you have a specific need. We are here to help!

All donation items can be dropped off to the Gemmell Information Desk. Please check items for expiration dates before donating. We will accept any non-perishable food item regardless of whether or not it is on the list! Applying for SNAP Benefits (Food Stamps)

You may be eligible for food stamps if you're at least one of the following:

  • Employed by a state or federal work study job (any hours)
  • Employed a minimum of 20 hours in a non-work study position
  • have a disability (physical or mental health) even if they are not receiving state disability benefits

Additionally, your parents income is not a factor for applying for SNAP benefits.

Venango Resource Room 

The Venango Student Resource Room is open and available
to students in Frame 205 – Stop in anytime to get what you need!

We created this room to support students who may be experiencing hunger, whose financial situation may have recently changed, living expenses changed, or who may be having a hard time getting healthy and nutritious options to eat.

The Room is stocked with items such as toilet paper, paper towels, snacks, breakfast options, soups and stews, mac and cheese, pasta and sauce, and much more – all free of charge to PennWest Clarion students at Clarion and Venango campuses.

Need something that isn't in Frame 205? Fill out the request to receive items from the larger stock of items at Clarion Campus. These orders can be delivered on Wednesday mornings to Frame Hall for you to pick up.
