Student Organizations

Students from various colleges and disciplines across campus have performance opportunities in the following groups:                 

Golden Eagle Marching Band

Rich in tradition, the Golden Eagle Marching Band is a corp-style marching band performing diverse styles of music and challenging contemporary drill. With participation from students across campus, the group rehearses in the fall and has a five-day camp before the semester begins. The repertoire ranges from classics and contemporary to traditional fight songs.  The band appears at all home football games, leads the Autumn Leaf Festival Parade, has been featured at numerous professional football games and high school band competitions, and is an annual participant in the Collegiate Marching Band Festival of Allentown.

Symphony Orchestra

Symphony Orchestra is the premier performing group consisting of the Clarion University community, including students, faculty, residents, and professionals of the surrounding area.  The group is dedicated to the quality performance of standard orchestral repertoire and to the professional and artistic growth of its members.  Further, the group typically invites nationally recognized soloists for both its fall and spring concert.  The Symphony Orchestra works collaboratively with other departments and presents one concert per semester on campus. 

Symphonic Band

Symphonic Band is a group of talented wind and percussion players from all majors on campus and performs significant wind literature from the Renaissance to the 20th century.  It rehearses twice per week during the spring semester performing one concert on campus.  The symphonic band annually invites guests artists to perform on its spring concert.

Concert Choir

Concert Choir is the ideal ensemble for any Clarion University student or member of the Clarion community who enjoys singing choral music. The choir rehearses at 3 p.m. every Monday and Wednesday and performs music from a wide range of genres and styles including classical literature from all musical periods, large choral works with orchestra, spirituals, folk songs from various ethnic traditions, jazz, popular music, and musical theatre. Public performances are scheduled each semester.

Chamber Singers

Chamber Singers is Clarion University's premier choir composed of outstanding vocalists from across the state. Open to any student by audition, the Chamber Singers perform a challenging and varied repertoire from Gregorian Chant to Jazz, primarily a cappella, in a variety of performance settings.
