Active Duty Military Tuition and Fees

Each year, the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education’s Board of Governors sets tuition rates and tuition-related fees for the 14 state system schools. This is typically completed on or around July 1. The PennWest Clarion Council of Trustees sets fees which are used to support student activities and the operation of university facilities. All fees are payable whether or not the student plans to use these services or facilities. Total costs depend upon credit load, fees, housing choice, meal plan selection, location, and in some cases, program choice.

Active duty service members and their dependents will receive a tuition rate of $250 per credit hour (maximum of $3,000 per term for an undergraduate full-time student).  Undergraduate online students taking more than 18 credits will be billed at the tuition rate of $250 for each additional credit.  Graduate online students will receive a tuition rate of $399 per credit hour.  Active duty service members and their dependents will also receive PA resident fee rates per the published tuition and fee schedule.

All active duty service members and their dependents should contact the Veteran Service Office via email (veteranservice@pennwest.edu) or telephone (814-393-1630/2022) to verify their status. In order to verify status, a Statement of Service from your present Command is required.  For additional information, please visit our Veterans & Military page.
