Under provisions of FERPA, the University may release directory information about students without violating privacy rights. Clarion University defines directory information as name, local/permanent addresses and phone numbers, University e-mail address, dates of registered attendance, nature of any degrees awarded and the date conferred. A student may request that directory information not be released by submitting a written request (which includes their signature) to the Office of the Registrar, 122 Carrier,  the first five days of the semester. If the request is received after the fifth day of the fall term, their addresses/phone numbers will already appear in the campus directory. The People Finder is updated every Monday.
