Any student is eligible for campus employment, since it is considered a
form of self-help aid. Clarion University does not assign or “package”
work-study jobs. Available positions are posted in the Office of Financial
Aid, and on the Website under
Career
Services.
Interested students apply to the academic unit advertising
for student help. Student receive a bi-weekly paycheck for the hours they
work. In general, students work about 10 hours per week.
Federal
Work Study and Community Service Learning
Although
most campus employment positions are open to any student, Clarion does have
some work study positions that are federally funded, such as positions in
Community Service Learning, and in America Reads/Keystone Smiles. These
positions are only open to students with unmet financial need, according to
the FAFSA. Students who are interested in these federal work-study positions
may contact the Center for Teaching Excellence in Gemmell Student Center
(America Reads/Keystone Smiles Program) or the Office of Community Service
Learning in 275 Gemmell Student Center. Students may check for
available positions and submit applications for Community Service Learning
positions by visiting
www.clarion.edu/career. The phone number for the Center for
Teaching Excellence is 814-226-2776. The phone number for the Office
of Community Service Learning is 814-393-2315.
International Students
and Campus Employment
International students, like any other Clarion
University students, are eligible to work on campus. However, as
non-residents, there are several additional forms that International
students need to file before they can be placed on the payroll and receive a
paycheck. These forms should be completed in the Office of Human Resources,
B-25 Carrier. |
