Consolidation Policy:

If you find yourself in a double room without a roommate, you have the following options:

• Consolidate with a student in the same residence hall who is in a similar situation.
• Request the GM/AC assign you to a double room with a roommate.
• If you have earned 15 or more credits, or have lived on campus one complete semester, you can keep the room as a single by paying the established single room rate. Students are notified in writing during the beginning of the term as to the dates by which a room may be paid for as a single. Students who do not pay for their single room will be consolidated with another student in the same situation.

The policy is in effect for the first five weeks of classes or until all students are removed from overflow housing. If you lose your roommate after the designated period, you are not required to consolidate or pay the single room rate; however, the Office of Residence Life Services has the option of assigning a student to the vacant space if there is a need. There is no option to keep a double room as a single in the event other students are housed in overflow temporary housing.
