            (CLARION, PA): Clarion won three bouts on Friday night against #17 Edinboro, including the first two, but the Fighting Scots won six in a row, including a pin and two forfeits in defeating the Golden Eagles 27-9 tonight at Waldo S. Tippin Gymnasium.

            Clarion’s Rob LaBrake opened with an 8-4 decision over Patrick Wayne, giving the Eagles a 3-0 lead. Edinboro was without #1 ranked Shawn Bunch at 133. Then, at 141, Clarion’s Greg Lewis notched a 4-1 decision over Ryan Morgan and Clarion had a 6-0 lead.

            Edinboro tied the score 6-6 when Jay Morrison (149) pinned Derrick Smith at 4:07, then took the lead for good when Matt Hill decisioned Nick Billups 4-0 at 157.

            The Scots rolled on when Deonte Penn posted a 3-0 decision over Logan Downes at 165, and Eric Ring won 4-0 over Dominic Ross at 174.

            Alex Clemsen and Joe Fendone accepted forfeit wins at 184 and 197 respectively, giving Edinboro an insurmountable 27-6 lead.

            At heavyweight Clarion’s A.J. Brooks posted a 3-2 win in the tie breaker over Koel Davia to make the final 27-9. Brooks got a reversal with 14-sconds left in the tie breaker, and Davia escaped with 11 seconds left making the score 3-2. In the second tie breaker, Brooks rode Davia out to win 3-2.

            Clarion is now 0-10 on the season and 0-1 in the EWL, while Edinboro raises its record to 6-0 overall and 1-0 in the EWL. Clarion travels to West Virginia on Sunday for a 1pm matchup.
