GOLDEN EAGLES FALL TO EAST STROUDSBURG

CLARION –Alyssa Antolick scored 20 points and grabbed nine rebounds off the bench to lead East Stroudsburg to a 65-59 win over Clarion in PSAC Crossover action Saturday afternoon at Tippin Gym.

The Golden Eagles (3-8) trailed 33-29 at halftime before watching East Stroudsburg (9-1) use an 11-4 run at the start of the second half to take a 44-33 lead with 12:04 left in the game.

Clarion rallied with a 12-5 run to cut the deficit to four points – 49-45 – on a My’Kea Cohill three-pointer with 8:32 left. But the Warriors got the lead back to 10 points with just over four minutes to play, and Clarion never got closer than six the rest of the way.

Three Golden Eagles scored in double figures led by Cohill’s 16 points and six rebounds. April Gratton added 14 points, seven rebounds with Katrina Greer chipping in with 10 points.

Maryellen Onofre, Jackie Yandrisevits and Monika Fogelsanger each added 11 points for East Stroudsburg.

Clarion returns to action Sunday when it hosts Kutztown at 1 p.m.
