EAGLES' GREER NAMED PSAC-WEST ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

            Katrina Greer (Centre Hall/Penns Valley) is the PSAC-West Rookie of the Week.

            Greer began her collegiate career by averaging 12.5 points, 4.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.0 steals per game while helping the Golden Eagles to a 1-1 start. She had 14 points and four rebounds in a tough 71-63 loss to No. 3 Charleston Nov. 15 and contributed 11 points, four assists and three steals in an 88-69 win over Point Park Saturday.

            Clarion returns to action Wednesday when it hosts Ashland at 6 p.m. The Golden Eagles then have three games at the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation Classic at IUP over the weekend facing Pitt-Johnstown at Noon Friday, Glenville State at noon Saturday and Gannon at 1 p.m. Sunday.

            GOLDEN EAGLE NOTES – Greer is the daughter of Patti Davidson and Steve Greer. She is a 2005 graduate of Penns Valley where she was a third-team Class AA All-State performer as a senior after averaging 23.2 ppg, 7.8 rpg. She finished her high school career with 1,987 points (18.4 ppg) … Greer is the third Clarion player to be named Rookie of the Week in the last two years … Jessica Albanese and Ashley Grimm each garnered the award last season with Grimm winning it twice.
