EAGLES HOST FIRST PLAYOFF GAME SINCE 1992 Tonight’s game is the first home playoff contest for Clarion since 1992 and just the third in school history … Clarion is 1-2 at Tippin Gym in the PSAC’s beating Slippery Rock 113-102 in the 1991 quarterfinals and losing to Millersville 67-65 in overtime in the 1988 semifinals and falling to Bloomsburg 79-75 in the 1992 semifinals. CLARION-SHIP HAVE GREAT POSTSEASON HISTORY Clarion and Ship both have great PSAC postseason history … The Eagles have won three PSAC Titles and appeared in four title games while Ship has six PSAC Titles and has appeared in eight title games including losing last year’s PSAC Championship tilt 87-54 to Cal. CLAR-SHIP: 2ND STRAIGHT PSAC PLAYOFF MEETING This is the second straight PSAC Playoff meeting between Clarion and Shippensburg … The Lady Raiders won 65-36 at Shippensburg March 2 last season despite Clarion leading 22-20 at halftime … Ship outscored the Eagles 45-14 in the 2nd half. CIGICH HAS 5 DOUBLE-DOUBLES IN LAST 8 GAMES Senior forward Heather Cigich has 5 double-doubles in her last 8 games while averaging 19.9 ppg, 11.6 rpg, 3.38 apg and 2.63 spg. SHIPPENSBURG Clarion and Shippensburg split the season series this year with Clarion winning 62-54 Jan. 12 at Shippensburg and Shippensburg returning the favor 69-58 Feb. 7 at Clarion (see attachments) … The loss to Shippensburg was Clarion’s lone home loss this season.
