LAST GAME

2/12 - Cal beat Edinboro 59-49 (see attachment)

NEXT GAME

2/23 - Clarion is at Edinboro & Cal is at Shippensburg

PSAC-WEST TITLE COULD BE ON THE LINE

The winner of this game will control its own destiny in winning the PSAC-West title … A Clarion win, and the Golden Eagles would only need to spilt its final two games (at Edinboro & IUP) to claim its first PSAC-West title and the No. 1 seed in the postseason since 1995 … A Cal win, and the Vulcans could win their fourth straight PSAC-West title by winning out … If Cal would beat Clarion but lose to Shippensburg there is a small chance Clarion could still win the title because of certain PSAC tiebreaker procedures … With a win, Clarion could also get the No. 1 seed even if it loses its final two games as long as Shippensburg win out creating   either a tie with Ship which Clarion would win or a three-way tie with California and Ship which Clarion also would win.

WIN EQUALS HOME PLAYOFF GAME FOR EAGLES

A win by Clarion, and Clarion is assured a home playoff game as either the No. 1 or No. 2 seed from the PSAC-West … The worst Clarion could finish with a victory is 9-3 in the PSAC-West and Clarion would own the tiebreaker over both Shippensburg and California (the other two teams vying for one of two home playoff spots).

CIGICH READY TO TAKE 2ND IN REBOUNDING

Senior forward Heather Cigich needs 3 rebounds to pass Mona Gaffney for 2nd all-time in school history in rebounding … She has 1,077 boards, while Gaffney had 1,079 … Cigich also ranks fourth in school history in points (1,721), 8th in assists (231), fifth in steals (236) and third in blocks (79) .

RECENT CLARION-CALIFORNIA SERIES HISTORY

Clarion broke a 13-game losing streak to the Vulcans with the 71-59 win Jan. 29 at Tippin Gym … It marked the first time Clarion beat California since Feb. 4, 1998 … Cal has still won 17 of 19 dating back to Feb. 1996 … Clarion is looking for its first win at Hammer Hall since that victory Feb. 4, 1998 … Clarion head coach Gie Parsons is 14-19 at Clarion vs. California including 6-10 at Hammer Hall … The Golden Eagles won 12 straight from the Vulcans from Jan. 23, 1991, to Jan. 31, 1996 … Cal broke that streak with a 76-74 win at Cal Feb. 21, 1996, which vaulted the Vulcans on the current 17-2 run.
