CIGICH HITS 1,000 CAREER REBOUNDS
Clarion senior forward Heather Cigich recorded her 1,000th career rebound in Clarion’s win over Slippery Rock Wednesday. She now has 1,001 and is the third player in school history and 14th in PSAC History to record 1,000 rebounds in a career. She ranks third in school history in rebounding and fourth in scoring (1,617)
GOLDEN EAGLES HAVE WON SEVEN STRAIGHT
Clarion is on a 7-game winning streak, the longest for the Golden Eagles since the 1993-94 season … That year Clarion had winning streaks of 12 and nine games … Clarion’s 15-3 record is also the best since the 1993-94 team was also 15-3.
CAL HAS 13-GAME WINNING STREAK BROKEN
California, the defending national champions, had its 13-game winning streak snapped by Pitt-Johnstown 73-70 Wednesday night. It was the Vulcans first regular-season non-conference loss since Pitt-Johnstown beat Cal 69-60 two seasons ago … The three loses by Cal this season equal the total numbers of loses by the Vulcans in the last two years … Last season, Cal was 35-1 on its way to the national title with the only loss coming Feb. 21 at Shippensburg (77-73).
