CLARION’S GRIMM NAMED PSAC-WEST ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

            Ashley Grimm (Sugarloaf/Hazelton), Clarion University’s freshman point guard, is the PSAC-West Rookie of the Week for the week ending Nov. 28.

            Grimm helped Clarion to a 1-1 week by averaging 9.5 points, 5.0 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game while hitting 3 of 4 form the three-point line.

            In a 78-69 win over Ashland Nov. 24 she scored seven points, grabbed five rebounds, dished out three assists and had three steals. Then in a loss at Charleston Sunday she tied for team-high honors with 12 points while adding five rebounds and three assists.

            On the season, Grimm has helped Clarion to a 4-1 start by averaging 7.6 points per game, 6.0 assists per game, 3.0 rebounds per game and 2.8 steals per game. She is shooting 55.2 percent (16-29) from the field. She had a career-high 11 assists vs. West Virginia Tech and 12 points vs. Charleston.

            The Golden Eagles return to action Wednesday at 6 p.m. when they host Tiffin.
