CLARION CLINCHES PSAC PLAYOFF BERTH

The Clarion University women’s basketball team clinched a PSAC playoff berth Wednesday thanks to an 80-55 win over Lock Haven and California’s 63-54 win over IUP.

It is the second consecutive PSAC Playoff berth for the Golden Eagles (19-4 overall, 7-1 PSAC-West) and marks the first back-to-back PSAC Playoff appearances for Clarion since the Golden Eagles qualified five straight years from 1991-1995 winning the PSAC-West in each season.

Clarion is currently in a first-place tie with California with both teams two games ahead of Shippensburg in the loss column. The top two teams in the PSAC-West earn first-round home playoff games. Clarion, which beat California 71-59 Jan. 29, travels to California Feb. 19.
