CIGICH NAMED PSAC-WEST PLAYER OF THE WEEK

CLARION – Clarion University’s Heather Cigich is the PSAC-West Women’s Basketball Co-Player of the Week for the week ending Dec. 21.

It is the second time in a row and the third time this season that Cigich is the Player of the Week in the PSAC-West.

During the week she led Clarion to a 2-0 week that included a 98-72 win over Mansfield Wednesday and a 66-57 come-from-behind win over Kutztown Thursday.

She had 19 points, 13 rebounds, two assists and three steals against Cheyney and netted 17 points to go with 13 rebounds, one assist and two steals against Kutztown.

On the season, Cigich is averaging 19.8 ppg and 13.4 rpg while adding 23 assists and 25 steals as Clarion has started 6-2. She now has 972 career points and 629 career rebounds.

Cigich shared the POW award with California’s Megan Storck.

NOTES – Cigich was a pre-season Honorable Mention All-American by the DII Bulletin and a pre-season All-PSAC-West selection.
