CIGICH NAMED PSAC-WEST PLAYER OF THE WEEK

            For the second time in three weeks, Clarion University junior forward Heather Cigich (Johnstown/Conemaugh Twp.) is the PSAC-West Women’s Basketball Player of the Week.

            During the week, Cigich helped Clarion go 1-1 by averaging 20 ppg, 13.5 rpg and 3 spg. She led Clarion to an 86-38 win over Mansfield Saturday by scoring 20 points and grabbing a career-high 19 rebounds to go along with give assists and six steals. On Thursday she tallied 20 points and grabbed eight rebounds in just 29 minutes of action in an 83-74 loss to Tiffin.

            On the season, Cigich is averaging a double-double with 20.3 ppg and 13.5 rpg. She has recorded five double-doubles in six games, while also adding 20 assists (3.3 apg), two blocked shots and 20 steals (3.3 spg).

            Cigich has helped lead Clarion to a 4-2 start on the year, and in her career she has 936 points and 603 rebounds. She ranks 13th in school history in scoring and ninth in rebounding.

            NOTES: Clarion returns to action Dec. 17 when it hosts Cheyney at 6 p.m. Clarion then hosts Kutztown at 6 p.m. Dec. 18.
