Since then the Indians have lost 4 straight.
CLARION NOTES: Clarion has lost 3 straight and 4 of its last 5 … Heather Cigich continues to write her name into Clarion’s record book. She moved into 5th place all-time in scoring Wednesday against California and now has 1,228 career points. She is also 6th in school history with 763 rebounds and needs just one more to tie Shannon Coakley for 5th in school history and 46 more to tie Cheryl Banesk for 4th … Her 169 career steas ranks 9th all-time and her 52 blocks ranks 4th in school history … With 414 career points this season, she needs 16 to move into 10th place in a single-season, and with 241 rebounds, she needs 31 to move into 9th place in a single season. Five more steals would also give her 71 for the season, good for 10th place in school history.
IUP’S CLARION CONNECTION: The Indians coaching staff has a distinct Clarion flavor … Head coach Justin English was a men’s graduate assistant for Clarion in 1998-99 and a GA for the women’s team in 2000-01 … Assistant coach Melissa (Yearous) O’Neil is a 2001 Clarion graduate who ranks 12th in school history in scoring (1,003 points) while also grabbing 524 rebounds and winning PSAC High Jump titles in 1999 & 2000 while setting the school record at 5-6 ½ and winning All-American Honors in 2001.
