CLARION NOTES: Heather Cigich continues to climb up the scoring chart at Clarion With 22 points against Edinboro Wednesday she became just the sixth player in school history to score 1,200 career points and now has 1,216. She needs three points to tie Jeannie Tyler (1989-92) for fifth all-time in school history Cigich also has 749 career rebounds and ranks 6th all-time in school history She needs 15 boards to move into a tie for fifth place in school history with Shannon Coakley (1991-94) Cigich has scored in double figures in 28 straight games and in 40 of her last 41 contests Lock Haven was the last team to hold her under 10 points limiting her to six in 18 minutes Jan. 29, 2003 Cigich also had 15 double-doubles this season and has been named PSAC-West Player of the Week a PSAC-West leading four times.
CAL NOTES: California head coach Darcie Vincent is one win shy of her 100th win at Cal She had 152 career wins and is 152-72 as a head coach and 99-18 at Cal With 89 steals this season, Meghan Storck has already sent the school record for steals in a season The Vulcans had two players hit scoring milestone last week when Becky Siembak scored her 1,800 career point including 950 points in one-plus seasons at Cal and Sameera Philyaw scored her 1,400 career point The Vulcans are the top scoring team in the nation (85.6 ppg) and No. 1 in the nation in FG percentage (53.0%).
