RECENT CLARION-SHIPPENSBURG SERIES HISTORY: The teams have split the series the last two years, but prior to that Shippensburg has swept the series five straight times and had won 10 in a row and 11 of 12 from the Golden Eagles … Last season’s 78-75 win by Clarion at home might go down as the greatest comeback in school history … Clarion trailed by 29 points in the first half and by 28 points with 19 minutes left but went one runs of 22-0 and 19-6 to get the win … Shippensburg got even with the Golden Eagles in the last game of the regular season at Ship in a game where the winner went to the PSAC Playoffs and the loser went home … Clarion led 41-38 at halftime, but the Lady Raiders went on a 17-0 run early in the second half to take the lead for good.

CLARION LEADERS: Heather Cigich – 20.2 ppg, 11.4 rpg, 2.5 apg, 3.27 spg – Ranks No. 1 in the PSAC & No. 15 in the nation in scoring, No. 2 in the PSAC & No. 8 in the nation in rebounding & No. 3 in the PSAC in steals; Shay Godwin – 15.1 ppg, 12.1 rpg, 16 blocks – Ranks 7th in PSAC in scoring, 1st in the PSAC & 3rd in the nation in rebounding , 6th in the PSAC in blocks per game; Amelia Harris – 14.2 ppg, 5.6 rpg, 3.1 apg – Ranks 15th in PSAC in scoring, 14th in assists; Tiffany Peacock – 13.2 ppg, 2.6 apg, 3.3 rpg.

GAME NOTES: The game is a key midseason PSAC-West contest with Shippensburg and Clarion locked in a four-way tie for second place in the West with Edinboro and Slippery Rock and IUP just a ½ game back at 2-3.

CLARION NOTES: After a fast 7-3 start, the Golden Eagles have been very up-and-down in their last eight games going 3-5 … Clarion is looking to win two in a row for the first time sine Dec. 17-18 … On Wednesday against Lock Haven, Shay Godwin (20 points, 15 rebounds) and Heather Cigich (19 points, 13 rebounds) each recorded double-doubles to lead Clarion to a 71-56 … The tandem leads the PSAC in double-doubles with Cigich having 13 and Godwin nine … Cigich now has 41 double-doubles in 71 career games and is now just 41 points shy of moving into fifth place in scoring all-time at Clarion … She has 1,178 points … Cigich also has 728 career rebounds and needs 36 to move into fifth place in school history.

SHIPPENSBURG NOTES: The Lady Raiders are coming off a 71-60 loss at California … Ship led by four at halftime but California rallied in the second half for its 45th straight home win … 27 turnovers killed the Lady Raiders … Shanna Oaddams was 9 of 10 shooting and had 19 points and nine rebounds to lead Ship, while Katie Bray had 17 points …  After a 7-1 start, the Lady Raiders have gone just 4-6 in their last 10 including two straight losses and four losses in their past six games.
