GOLDEN EAGLES CIGICH NAMED PSAC-WEST PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Clarion University sophomore forward Heather Cigich (Davidsville/Conemaugh Twp.) is the final PSAC-West Player of the Week for the 2002-03 season.
Cigich earned the honor after a stellar all-around week despite the Golden Eagles 0-2 mark. She averaged 22.0 ppg while connecting on 52.3 percent (16-30) of her shots. She also averaged 14.0 rpg, 4.5 spg and 3.5 apg. She collected 23 points, 14 rebounds, six steals and two blocks vs. Edinboro Wednesday and had 21 points and 14 rebounds vs. Shippensburg Saturday.
The award marked the fourth time this season Cigich was named the PSAC-West Player of the Week, the most of any player in the PSAC-West. Cigich finished the season averaging a double-double with 18.6 ppg and 10.4 rpg. She ranked in the top five in the PSAC in both categories. Her 506 points this season were the sixth most in a single season in school history, while her 281 rebounds were the seventh most in a single season in school history.
In her two-year career, Cigich has scored 814 points and grabbed 522 rebounds in 53 games.
