RECENT CLARION-BORO SERIES HISTORY: Edinboro has won two straight at Tippin Gym after losing four of five in Clarion … The last 10 meetings between the two sides have been high-scoring affairs with Edinboro averaging 80.9 ppg and Clarion scoring 72.3 ppg … Twice in the early 1990’s Clarion and Edinboro met in the postseason … Clarion defeated the Fighting Scots 85-70 in the NCAA Playoffs in 1992 and then beat Edinboro 104-81 to win the 1993 PSAC Title.
GAME NOTES: Clarion is coming off one of the greatest comebacks in school history Saturday … The Golden Eagles trailed Shippensburg by 29 points late in the first half and by 28 points with 19 minutes to play but rallied to win thanks in large part to a 22-0 run that cut the Ship lead from 28 points to six points around the 15-minute mark of the second half … Edinboro meanwhile gave California its toughest PSAC-West contest of the season before losing 67-65 when Megan Storck hit two free throws with 1 second left to lift the Vulcans to the win … The Scots led by as many as nine in the game and held a seven-point lead early in the second half before Cal went ahead by 7 with 5:48 to play … A 10-3 run by Edinboro tied the game with 51 seconds left before Cal was able to pull out the victory … Clarion’s Heather Cigich was the PSAC-West Player of the Week for the second straight week this past week after averaging 16 ppg and 9.5 rpg despite missing the second half of the Lock Haven game Wednesday with a minor injury … Cigich had 26 points & 15 rebounds in the win over Ship … Edinboro’s Lachelle Crawl had 24 points & 10 rebounds in the loss at California.
