CLARION MOVES UP TO SECOND IN NCAA ATLANTIC REGION
The Clarion University women’s volleyball team moved up one spot to second in the latest NCAA Division II Atlantic Region poll released Wednesday.
The Golden Eagles (25-4 overall) moved ahead of Edinboro (25-9) after knocking off the Fighting Scots 3-0 Saturday. California (30-3) holds the top spot.
Clarion, the second seed from the PSAC-West, returns to action Friday when it faces West Chester, the third seed from the PSAC-East, in the opening round of the PSAC Playoffs at Shippensburg. Match time is set for 12:30 p.m.
GOLDEN EAGLE NOTES – The Regional rankings are used to help determine the participants in the NCAA Division II Tournament (Basically, an automatic qualifier is taken from each of the three conferences in the Atlantic Region – PSAC, Carolinas Conference and the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) and the top five ranked teams not already qualified are then taken) … Clarion has qualified for the NCAA D-II Tournament in four of the past five season including last year
