CLARION’S STEINER NAMED SECOND TEAM PSAC-WEST

            Christina Steiner (Florence, KY/Ryle), a junior outside hitter on the Clarion University women’s volleyball team, has been named second-team PSAC-West in a voting by the league’s coaches.

            Steiner led the Golden Eagles this season with 375 kills (3.29 per game) while finishing second on the team with 420 digs (3.68 per game). She ranked 10th in the PSAC in both kills per game and digs per game while adding 32 service aces and 40 blocks.

            In her career, Steiner has 858 kills, 711 digs and 109 blocks.

            Her 375 kills (17th) and 420 digs (18th) put her in the Top 20 in each category in a season at Clarion, while her 858 career kills are the 13th most at Clarion.

            Steiner helped Clarion to a school-record sixth straight 20-win season (20-12) while also helping the Golden Eagles to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in the past five years.

            GOLDEN EAGLE NOTES – Clarion had one player on the All-Conference team last season, as Karen Stoklosa was a second-team selection … The Golden Eagles also made the NCAA Tournament in 2004, 2003 and 2002.
