TRACEY FLUHARTY - Head Coach

    A highly motivated, knowledgeable, experienced coach, Tracey Fluharty begins her fourth season as head coach of the Golden Eagle Women’s Volleyball program and her eighth year as a collegiate coach.
    In her first three seasons at Clarion, she has led the Golden Eagles to two consecutive NCAA D-II Playoff appearances while compiling a record of 80-31 overall and 15-15 in the PSAC-West.
In 2002, she led the Golden Eagles to a school record 31 wins (31-5), a first-ever NCAA D-II playoff berth and a 7-3 mark in the PSAC-West, the most wins since 1997 (7-3). In 2003, she led Clarion to a second straight NCAA playoff appearance with a 26-10 overall, 5-5 PSAC-West mark. In 2001, the Eagles were 23-16. Her 2003 team also earned the AVCA Team Academic Award (3.3 cum team gpa or better).
    Fluharty came to Clarion after four solid years at NCAA Div. II Glenville St. (W.Va.) where she complied an impressive record of 99-56 that included three 25-win seasons. Her top teams at Glenville were 26-13 in 1998, 26-16 in 1999 and 28-12 in 2000.
Fluharty attended Glenville St. and in 1995 earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education with a minor in Safety Education.
    She was a four-year starter (1991-94) for the women's volleyball team earning All-WVIAC honors from 1992-94. A team captain for two seasons (93 & 94) and co-captain in 1992 as a sophomore, she led the team in kills and service aces her final three seasons.
    Fluharty went on to earn her Masters Degree in Physical Education from West Virginia in 1997 and was hired as an instructor and women's volleyball coach at Glenville the same year.
    As an instructor at Glenville she taught a variety of courses including first aid and safety, fitness and wellness, swim and aquatic safety, coaching philosophy and development and much more. The Intramural Director at Glenville, Fluharty also served on numerous campus-wide committees. She was an active member in the Special Olympics at Glenville and a three-year member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).
    A native of Clarksburg, West Virginia, she attended Liberty High School and was a three-sport athlete. An All-State selection in basketball, volleyball and tennis, she was All Big-10 and All-Harrison County in all three sports.
Fluharty resides in Clarion.
